When I was first bedbound with CFS, I called it “enforced surrender” - and today I can thank my long-suffering body for doing its best to teach me how to pace myself.
This habitual speeding is a strategy to avoid uncomfortable feelings. I can't help but perceive the state of our planet as a result of the current epidemic of speeding and disconnection.
